JB's American Diner

Last night I caught up with a friend in one of my favourite places to eat in Brighton, JB's. I love going there for it's quirky decor, 50's music and amazing milkshakes.

You can order from a bit of a selection, whether you fancy a burger, steak, sandwich or a salad, it's all there and it's all good (I know, it's bad that I know this).

My delicious Oreo Milkshake!
They do quite a few flavours but I'm yet to try any others because the Oreo is just so good! They are huge so I would recommend sharing one between two like we did if you are eating. But if you do manage a whole milkshake and a meal, I commend you!

After hours of gossiping and telling the waitresses 'we're not ready to order yet' four times, we finally ordered Mozzerella Sticks, Fries and Southern Fried Chicken Strips and it was delicious!

The prices are pretty cheap and the atmosphere is different to your usual restaurant. It was a perfect evening to escape from the cold weather and my uni work!

Where are your favourite places to eat? Let me know!

Slice Sussex

If you live in Sussex or visit Brighton often you must know about this place! Slice Sussex or Sussex Slice as I like to call it (it rolls off the tongue easier!) is the perfect place for the perfect brunch. I've heard so many positive things about this place and it's so close to home I figured I had to give it a try.
On Sunday after a good gym session, my house-mates and I gave it a shot and it did not disappoint.

I went for the Full English (minus the mushrooms and tomatoes), added some halloumi and a mug of tea and it was the perfect, most delicious brunch.

My house-mate chose the No-Meat English which looked equally as delicious.

If fry-ups aren't your thing, do not fear! They do a huge range of stuff - including vegetarian and healthier options so check out the menu below and let me know if you pay a visit!

Redd Lips

Red lipstick is my definitely my go to at the moment. Whether I'm going out shopping or for dinner, I keep reaching for the same three red lip products...

MAC lipstick - Russian Red - 15.50

I recently bought Russian Red from MAC after borrowing it from a friend and I am absolutely addicted.
It's quite a dark red, different to my usual orangey reds, but it's beautiful and it's so perfect for making a winter outfit a bit more colourful. If you're looking for a new red lipstick, I definitely recommend this one especially as it'll suit any skin tone.

MAC Redd Lip pencil - 12.50
This is the perfect red lip pencil for any red lipstick whether it's for a light/dark/orangey red, it works for all. I haven't always used lip pencil with my lipsticks but I find when I do it makes the lip stick application easier, it looks neater and it lasts longer. The MAC products are quite pricey so there are cheaper alternatives, I am a huge fan of Rimmel's lipsticks and lip pencils which are more suitable for when you're on a budget and are equally as good.

Swatches left to right: MAC Russian Red, Tanya Burr Vampire Kiss, MAC Redd lip pencil.

Tanya Burr - Vampire Kiss Lipgloss - 6.99

To make the lip look more suitable for the evening I've been wearing the Tanya Burr Vampire Kiss lip-gloss on top of the MAC Russian Red. I love the matte look for the day but adding the lip-gloss on top of Russian Red makes it just a bit more special for the night time! I love this lip-gloss for it's colour (and taste I won't lie) but it can get a bit sticky which is difficult when you have long hair and it's windy, but that's expected with any lipgloss!

Above (left) is a picture of me wearing all three lip products when I went to see the 1975 last week.

Above (middle) is another picture of me with just the lipstick on (the night I didn't wear liner.. oops!)

What lip products are you loving at the moment? Let me know!

Bare Minerals Pure Brightening Serum Foundation

Last month Bare Minerals launched their first ever liquid foundation which I was (and still am) so happy about. I've always loved Bare Minerals but I am not so keen on loose powder products because of the mess I make, and Bare Minerals do a lot of loose powder products!
The day after the product launched I went into the Brighton Bare Minerals store, got my shade matched from the twenty available shades, and purchased the Pure Brightening Serum Foundation in 07 Bare Natural.
The foundation itself is quite pricey at 26.00 pounds but is a pretty similar price to other high end make up brands.

The perfecting face brush is sold alongside the foundation for 24.00 pounds. At first I thought this was quite expensive but now I've decided it's a pretty good investment as I am definitely going to be repurchasing this foundation and if not, it can be used with other foundations.

The foundation itself is light on the skin but makes such a transformation once it's on! I immediately feel that I look more awake and ready for the day ahead. It gives an even looking skin tone and lasts pretty well throughout the day.
Although I love the product I definitely think this foundation lasts better with the application of a powder afterwards. I use Bare Minerals Mineral Veil to set the foundation and rid of any shine.

A picture of me today wearing the foundation!
Let me know if you have tried this foundation and if so, do you like it!

Wedding Outfit

This past weekend I attended my beautiful cousin's wedding and watched her marry the man of her dreams. It was the most incredible day, it couldn't have gone any better.

So I thought I'd take the chance to do an outfit post seen as I think this is one of my favourite outfits ever! Mainly because it was pink and also because my dress was so comfortable I didn't want to take it off, it was a win-win combination.

July Favourites

There were so many things that I loved throughout the month of July but I've managed to cut it down and show you just a have few of them. It was only when I was taking the pictures that I realised most of my July favourites are pink but oh well, you can never too much pink in your life!

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine: 25.00

I actually bought this lipstick almost a year ago now but I didn't really use it because the colour wears off so quickly. Since then it has sat unused but looking beautiful in my lipstick stand. So last month I decided it was time to make use of the ever so pricey lipstick and now I can't get enough of it. I've had so many compliments on the colour which is a gorgeous dark shimmery pink.

We all know YSL packaging is probably the best out there, it definitely looks like a high end lipstick and the quality is lovely, it's very soft and moisturising on the lips just be prepared to keep reapplying it all night.

Left swatch - Rouge Volupte Shine.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick: 006 Pink Blush: 4.99

This is one of my most used lipsticks which is evident from the photo! I just love the quality and colour of Rimmel lipsticks, they are so affordable and often better quality than some high end lipsticks. It's quite a bright baby pink but I love wearing it for the day time or when I'm wearing heavy eye make-up at night.

Middle swatch - Pink Blush.

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense: Heftiest Hibiscus: 16:50.

Last lip product, I promise! I've been loving this chubby stick this summer too, it's a really intense bright orange and just looks beautiful on. The chubby sticks are quite pricey but I think the intense colours like this one are worth it compared to the more subtle colours which I don't think are worth 16.50 each.

Right swatch - Heftiest Hibiscus.

Bare Minerals Eye Shadown in Cupcake: 14.00

When I first started buying the Bare Minerals eyeshadow pots I wasn't sure whether they would be worth the 14.00 but they 100% are! I actually think they are a bit of a bargain now. Even with constant use they last ages, often up to six months. I am loving this colour for summer too as it's a soft shimmery pink which works really well with black or soft browns on an evening out which is my go to at the moment!

Bare Minerals Prime Time: BB Primer Cream in Medium: 23.00:

This is probably my favourite beauty product of the month. I bought it just to use on days where I don't really want to be covered in foundation, especially in the heat we've been having at the moment but I'm loving it so much I have worn it everyday since I bought it! It actually feels like silk on your skin, it evens out the tone of your skin and gives some coverage. I wasn't sure whether I'd like it or not when I bought it but it surpassed all of my expectations. I've been mixing it with foundation for the evening when I want slightly more coverage and I am addicted.

Folli-Follie Ring: Classy Ring: Rose Gold Plated: 60.00:

I actually have been wearing this non stop since June, so it's a June and July favourite! My mum brought it for me as a present from my Grandad who sadly passed away in December so it's super special to me. It's so beautiful and precious as every time I wear it it reminds me of him. I'm trying not to wear it too much as I don't want to ruin it but it's so beautiful I can't help it. The photos definitely don't do it justice, it really is my favourite piece of jewellery I've ever owned.

Music:

Ed Sheeran: X:

If you haven't heard this album yet, stop what you are doing and go listen to it. It's absolutely beautiful. I fell in love with Ed Sheeran after hearing the A-Team a few years ago and became obsessed with his first album + so I was just as excited as the rest of the world when X was released. Although I'm not overly keen on the The Man and Take it Back, the rest of the album is just incredible. My favourites are Thinking Out Loud (which I definitely want as my wedding song, performed live by Ed himself, if he is not the groom that is), Tenerife Sea and Nina. His voice and writing skills are just beyond me I do not understand how people are this talented and I consider getting out of bed before 10 to be an achievement. I am SO excited to see him in October for the very first time. Cannot rave about this album enough.

Sam Smith: In The Lonely Hour:

I literally do not understand where this guy has been and how I only heard of him a few months ago. His voice is so beautiful I am addicted to it. The album is so beautiful, it's heartbreaking but therapeutic and I just can't stop listening to it. My favourites are I'm Not the Only One, I've Told You Now and Leave Your Lover (and obviously Stay With Me).

TV:

Awkward:

I used to be so obsessed with this show when it first came out and for some reason I just stopped watching it after season two, but this summer I have become addicted again. It's literally one of those shows that is so easy to watch and just makes you feel so happy, I literally cry with laughter whenever I watch it, mainly because of Molly Tarlov who plays Sadie who has to be one of the best human beings on this planet. If you haven't seen it, definitely watch it, there are loads of hot guys, it's funny and the friendships are cute too!

Hope you had a fabulous July!

KMS California Tame Frizz & Silk Sheen

I have definitely been neglecting my hair this past year, so I decided to try something new and attempt to fix the frizz-ball that my hair has become. I've heard such good things about KMS California and I chose the Tame Frizz range for obvious reasons.

Both the shampoo and conditioner make your hair feel super soft and smell really nice which is always a plus. I absolutely love the way my hair is feeling at the moment because of these products but to be honest I don't think I could buy them regularly because of the price. They are big bottles so I'm waiting to see how long they will last but compared to other shampoos and conditioners I use these are a bit too expensive for me.

KMS California Tame Frizz Shampoo: 9.75

KMS California Tame Frizz Conditioner: 10:10

KMS Taming Creme: 10.85

How to use:
Apply a small amount throughout towel-dried hair then blow dry.

The Taming Creme is probably the product that has changed my hair the most but it's also the product that I'm not 100% sure about. I hate putting cream products on my hair in fear of it looking greasy so even though I got several compliments the first time I used this I am still a little paranoid. I've found that my curls are a lot more intact so this product is definitely making a difference to my hair, I'm just going to have to get used to the shinier look (which is what I should be aiming for right?!).

I think for what it does the price is pretty reasonable especially as you only need a small amount, so I'm sure a bottle will last ages.

KMS California Silk Sheen Serum: 10.10

The silk sheen serum also aims to control frizz and make for smoother looking hair which I think combined with the taming creme, it's definitely doing. I use a tiny bit of this when I have styled my hair just to keep it from getting dry and frizzy throughout the day.

Here's how my hair looked after four uses & after putting rollers in.

I'm loving these products at the moment and would definitely recommend to anyone who is trying to tame frizzy hair!
